Come Dive With UltaDive  DAS BOAT: "The Carolyn Jane"

This boat is a 37 ft. (42ft.loa) dependable scuba dive customized Chris Craft sport fish/yacht. It has a large cabin and spacious fore and aft decks complete with a licensed U.S.C.G. captain. She is also equipped with a sofa, galley, refrigerator, microwave, bathroom (head), large swim platform and a retractable deep in-water ladder. The Carolyn Jane has some of the latest navigational electronics, rescue and safety equipment including an EPIRB.

Most dive sites are within 20 to 40 miles off shore so don't spend valuable dive time traveling on a slow moving cattle dive boat. In most cases, The Carolyn Jane can get you to the dive site within one and a half hours and without the crowd! Each trip has a maximum of only six divers plus Captain and crew, allowing each diver ample room to move and gear up.

Recent boat upgrades & improvements: Recently "The Carolyn Jane" has had both her engines replaced, a total refit of the main cabin, and a complete exterior paint job.

Come Dive With UltaDive  DIVE SITES: Plan on making two separate dives on either a wreck or oil platform/oil rig (pictured above). Oil rigs and or wrecks are essentially artificial reefs. The underwater structure of an oil rig located in 100 feet of water adds 2 - 4 acres of hard surface to the water column. They are covered with barnacles, encrusting sponges, bryzoans, and white hydroid or ivory coral and literally attract thousands of various types of marine life. With the typical 50 to 80 foot visibility you can expect to see large schools of plate sized spade fish, colorful angelfish, dolphins, rays, barracuda, amberjacks, groupers and occasionally whale sharks to name a few. Rig diving is considered to be the safest type of Gulf diving due to depth control, you can dive at 20 ft. or to 120 ft..

Come Dive With UltaDive Some Important Stuff About Safety:

Ultra Dive Charters has been in the dive charter business since 1991.We have an impeccable safety record. Our first priority is for the health and safety of all its customers. We do understand that a group of divers will have diverse experience levels, however we never consider this a reason for favoritism or exclusion concerning safety standards.

Ultra Dive is aware that one goal of recreational scuba diving is for you to have an enjoyable experience and we try not to inhibit in achieving this goal with a barrage of regulations. We simply require that all divers follow our rules and standard safety procedures applicable to the dive site conditions, dive within your comfort zone and have fun!  In addition to standard diving safety procedures, all divers are expected to act responsibly and follow three primary rules when diving with Ultra Dive Charters. They are:

1. PRACTICE THE FIRST RULE OF DIVING THROUGHOUT ALL DIVES:  "STAY WITH YOUR BUDDY".  "Stay with your buddy" applies from the time you both enter the water to when you both ascend and get back to the boat. This is known as the first rule of diving because it is probably the most important. Please stay with your buddy at all times while in the water.

2. STAY AT OR WITHIN THE RIG STRUCTURE WHEN DIVING AN OIL PLATFORM. At times a diver can drift away form the platform and will attempt to swim back while submerged using a compass barring, please do not do this. Should you lose sight of the structure immediately make a controlled assent and either get back to the dive boat or to the rig while on the surface. Keep in mind that there could be other boaters in these areas, this is another incentive to stay within the oil platform for obvious safety reasons.

3. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED ON BOARD. Consumption of any alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited for the full duration of these diving charters. "Full duration" does include surface intervals subsequent to diving activities and the ride back to the dock.

Thank you for checking out the website and in case I forgot to mention, stay with your buddy and SAFE DIVING!
